Introduction to myself!

Hi
My name is Alex Tosun, this is my first year at George brown college and my first semester. The program that I’m taking is culinary management and so far I love it. The reason why I want to be a chef is because when I was little, my mom would teach me how to cook Middle Eastern food and it was a lot of fun going into it. During high school I took a culinary class, and I love going into that class every day because I would make or learn something new every time. Also I didn’t really have time to cook at home during high school because I was really busy with training and school work. I wasn't too familiar with some of the herbs and spices that are commonly used here, but I'm trying to pick up with it and just getting to know these things better. I'm also not very accustomed to the culinary terms that are frequently used, so I need to put that down in my homework. I hope during this program that I learn a lot and I'm looking forward to working with all of you, and since we all share the same passion, this should be fun

Cheers

My Food Discovering

Hello All

Im not new to blogging, this is actually my first ever blog and I hope I impress you all, so here it goes. The new food that I tired this week was oysters. I love eating seafood, but I find oysters not appealing. I went to a restaurant called Aw Shucks in Aurora on monday night. I went with a couple of my friends from high school. A few minutes later me and my buddies finally ordered food, they all ordered Nova Scotia oysters, but I ordered a salmon, because I didn't find Oysters appealing. Few moments later our food arrived. My friends were bragging about how good there Oysters were and they were begging me to try it. I told myself that Oysters wouldn't hurt and its always good to try something new, I tried the Nova Scotia Oysters, and they were amazing! The texture was a little off for me, but overall they were amazing! and I regret getting my salmon dish.
